We have just got back from Microsoft Ignite 2016, where over 20 000 people converged in Atlanta with a shared interest on Office 365. GT was the only South African vendor to be on display, and we enjoyed every single moment of the event. The GT team was represented by Tracy van der Schyff, Gideon Jacobs, Kenny Myburgh, Craig Tarr and I. Our objectives where to show the world our solutions, create new relationships with the right people at Microsoft and learn, learn and learn some more. I can tell you now that we achieved every single objective with flying colours and ready to attend and support Ignite 2017 in Orlando next year without a shadow of a doubt.

There was so much to see and do during the event I wont be able to cover it in one blog post but will rather just cover our highlights. So here are the top 5 takeaways from Ignite 2016 for GT.

  1. Tracy van der Schyff won the Metaheros award for End User Adoption. This award was judged by an elite panel of peers and on the best, brightest and heroic took home the prize. Well done again to our cupcake.

  2. GTconsult chatted to and engaged with over 300 potential clients. We know we have excellent products and services, but to receive so much attention really blew me away, it shows the over whelming need for us in the industry and gives us great room for growth in 2017.

  3. Craig Tarr our COO and Co-Founder was named Nintex VTE which is a huge achievement and as Nintex Premier Partners in South Africa you know you are in good capable hands with any Nintex solution.

  4. We learnt more in 5 days than most people learn in a year at Ignite. We managed to talk to developers of the products we had questions about, learn about the roadmaps, and get real insight into our client requirements. You can watch all the same talks we attended here, but only get the unanswered questions from us J

  5. SharePoint has never been more important, with a guaranteed additional release of SharePoint on premise in 2020 and hybrid integration with all Office 365 apps. This means better times for anyone who has chosen SharePoint and Office 365 as their productivity solution platform. We have so much more to talk about so please feel free to contact us about any questions you have about the event or the Office 365 and SharePoint roadmap and we will be happy to assist.
